How to Remove Permanent Marker from Clothes after being washed

It is extremely difficult in order to tackle and remove the black marker marks from the white shirt as there is no single method in order to eradicate them. Following are different methods of how to remove black marker marks from white shirt.


1.    Rubbing Alcohol


In order to eradicate the mark of the permanent marker, one of the best and finest ways is to rub the alcohol. As because of this, ink is going to dissolve effectively. You just need to pour down the least amount of rubbing alcohol on that particular stained part. Use your finger in order to rub it. And because of this, stain is going to fade away or disappear quickly. The stained part is kept on rubbing until the mark of the marker disappears or vanishes.

2.    Nail Polish Remover


The other effective way to remove the marks of the marker is nail polish remover. For this, a small ball of cotton is used and you need to pour some drops of the nail polish remover on it. The cotton is then squeezed on the stain of the permanent marker that is present on the shirt. And then, the cotton ball is rubbed over the stain of the marker repeatedly until the marks are removed.

3.    Liquid Dishwashing Detergent and White Vinegar


 In order to remove the marker marks from the white shirt, white vinegar is one of the best and operative methods. For this, you need to mix one tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with one tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of water is also added. A soft cloth is dipped into the prepared mixture, and then, it is dabbed on the marks and stains of the marker.

The solution is allowed to stay there for at least a half hour. After every five minutes, the solution is blotted with the help of clean cloth. After this, the spot or the mark is flushed with the help of cold water. Blotting is continued until all the liquid is absorbed. Then, the remaining mark is sponged with the help of rubbing alcohol, after this blots it. And, then cold water is used to sponge which is followed by the blotting.

4.    Hairspray

In order to remove the marks of the marker from the white shirt, Hairspray method is another effective and quick way to remove them. The stain needs to be saturated with the help of the Hairspray and allow it to stay there for certain minutes. Then, a soft cloth is used in order to wipe it. Then, that stained area is rinsed with the help of clean water.

5.    Lemon Juice 


Lemon juice is also used in order to remove the marks of the marker from the white shirt. A fresh lemon is squeezed down on the marker or the stained area and then, a sponge or a brush is used in order to scrub that area.  Later, lemon juice is rinsed off with the help of the water. Then, allow the area to dry totally.

6.    Bleach


Bleach can also be used in order to remove the permanent marker from clothes. A minor quantity of bleach is diluted into the water and then, the stained part of the cloth is dipped in the liquid. The mark is coming off instantaneously or it might want to soak.

If the item is soaked, then, make sure that the bleach does not start to dissolve in the fabric. And when the stain is vanished, you need to wash the cloth instantaneously, as normal.

7.    Mixture of vinegar, milk, borax and lemon juice


In order to remove permanent marker from clothes after being washed, you need to prepare a mixture by mixing one tablespoon of lemon juice, borax, white vinegar and milk. You need to mix all these things in a small cup, after that put it directly on the stain of permanent marker and then, allow it to stay there for around 10 minutes. Now, you need to take a dampened and a clean sponge and dab it on the cloth till the mark comes away.

8.    Salt Wash


Another procedure to eradicate the stain of the permanent marker is to wash down the cloth on the coolest cycle that is obtainable for the washer. No detergent is used in order to wash the fabric; a cup of the salt is used as a substitute. This is going to lift up the stain form the cloth.

9.    Use a WD-40 Blot


The stain of the permanent marker is getting out by blotting it with the WD-40, particularly when it is on the thicker material or on a coarser fabric. A small quantity if the WD-40 is applied and you need to blot it at the mark by using the paper towel in order to eliminate it.

10.    Use a Cream of Tartar and Lemon Juice Mix


Lemon juice and the tarter cream are mixed together in the equal quantity in a bowl or a cup. Generously put that prepared mixture on the stained area and on the cloth parts that actually surrounds the stained area. Let the mixture stay there for some minutes before giving it a standard and regular cycle wash in the washing machine.

11.    Scrub with Tooth Paste


The stained area is scrubbed by using a paper towel with the help of the toothpaste. The stain is washed by using the water and the process is repeated if required. It is going to remove the permanent marker from the cloth.

Hand sanitizer, citrus juice, baking soda, coconut oil, cigarette ash, salt, butter, Lysol, dry erase marker, soap, Vaseline, baby wipes and sunscreen are also used in order to remove marker marks from white shirt.
